NOW HIRING!
OVERVIEW
The Prof's Bead Library is currently seeking 1-2 people to assist with photographing hand-fired glass beads and glass-bead jewelry and with uploading photos/building web content for The Prof's Bead Library website (yes, this website right here!). These are Team positions, meaning that the successful candidate(s) will work closely with me, Leah, the glass bead artist and Bead Library owner, when necessary, with other members of the Team. Other aspects of the position(s) include occassional help with bead shows (checking people out, speaking with shoppers, or bagging up goodies, etc.) and bead show preparation (helping price items, creating displays of jewelry, discussing needs, inventory, brainstorming ideas, identifying social media opportunities). Both new hires must be available to work the first Saturday in December (this year, Dec. 5, 2026).
Maybe one applicant will excel at the bead photograpahy part, while the other applicant--at the uploading/web content part. Perfectly fine with me!
DETAILS
- Either/both positions are part-time / contract-based work, requiring roughly half the day, 1-2 days per week. At times a bit more or a bit less, just depending. So, some flexibility is necessary.
- Retirees and/or others seeking light, supplemental income are encouraged to apply.
- Hourly payment will be discussed during an interview; expertise and previous experience will be considered in the starting rate.
- Must have transportation to my home in Diamondhead, the location of our work.
- Must be willing to submit a W-9 tax form when time (it's the law).
- Must be willing to work around the World's laziest small Terrier, Sammy.
- Strong applicants will be of good character, be coachable, proficient in basic math, professional in demeanor and in communication, friendly/cordial, comfortable in a small team (easy to get along with), and excited to work in a creative environment where needs/decisions can change fairly quickly. Patience and good attitudes are key. While business growth and the care of my clients are very serious business to me, we try not to take ourselves overly serious around here; these are beads and jewelry and pretty, girly things we're talking about--this is the FUN stuff!
- Preference given to applicants seeking long-term, light, steady work.
- At least TWO strong references will be required before interviews.
